UAFS Lion Hearts empower students, staff, faculty and UAFS supporters to work collaboratively with campus and community partners to become
responsible global citizens and informed leaders.
What is it?
Lion Hearts is an organization for people who want to give back to the Fort Smith and UAFS community through volunteer and service.
Who can be a Lion Heart?
Anyone who is currently a student, faculty or staff member of UAFS, an alumni, or a community member interested in giving back to UAFS and the surrounding area.
What is the time commitment?
The time you serve is completely up to you. Everything is on a volunteer basis. You will be emailed opportunities to serve UAFS and the community as they arise. There will also be a formal meeting for all Lion Heart members once a semester to discuss program updates and to recognize outstanding volunteers.
What types of projects will I be helping with?
We have received a variety of projects from helping with 5K’s, to being ushers at events, to spring cleaning at Fort Smith churches and businesses, to volunteering at events for UAFS. And when you sign up for Lion Hearts you can tell us what projects you are most interested in helping with.
What are the benefits of becoming a Lion Heart?
Of course, volunteers will be able to give back to the community they love! But, they will also get to network and meet other Lion Hearts and community members. Each Lion Heart will also receive a free t-shirt to wear during their volunteer projects.
